Zero-Interest Loans

$5,000 zero-interest loans, repayable over 5 years, can help Nova Scotians with the upfront costs of improving the energy efficiency of their homes.

  • You must have a home energy evaluation performed by ACAP first. Call 567-1628.
  • Get the work done, either yourself or by a qualified contractor. You must pay for the work yourself upfront. If you qualify for the low- to modest-income EnerGuide program, you qualify for an advance of up to $1500, depending on your estimates.
  • ACAP performs a free follow-up evaluation to confirm the work was done. They will submit your application for the zero-interest loan.
  • You must start to repay the loan 30 days after you cash the loan cheque; you have 5 years to fully repay it.
