Sean Howard: author of the collection local calls, forthcoming from Cape Breton University Press.

Anita Lahey: editor of Arc magazine and author of Out to Dry in Cape Breton (Signal Editions, 2006).

Harry Thurston: author of 20 books of poetry and non-fiction. A compilation of new and selected poems, Animals of My Own Kind, is due to be published by Vehicule Press later this year.

Based on original footage and interviews, augmented by a wealth of archival material from local residents, the film revolves round four main themes: fishing and the sea, community and church, war and peace, daily life and leisure.
